Introduction

Lars Persson is a docent (associate professor) in economics and deputy director of the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (former IUI) in Stockholm. His fields of interest are industrial economics, international investments, competition policy, innovations and entrepreneurship. Currently Lars Persson is conducting research on (i) international mergers and corporate restructuring, (ii) the interaction between entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and oligopolists in the innovation process, and (iii) corporate taxes and acquisitions.

Lars Persson is research fellow at Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London) and at Swedish Foundation for Small Business Research (FSF, Sweden). He has also served as an economic expert Judge at the District Court of Stockholm, and has been visiting professor at the European University Institute and Purdue University.
