At the seminar Magnus Henrekson will present the report Institutional Reform for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: An Agenda for Europe (Springer Briefs in Economics 2017 & Fires project) by Niklas Elert, Magnus Henrekson and Mikael Stenkula. The report calls for a more productive entrepreneurship and warns that the European Union suffer from an innovation deficit, which must be remedied if the EU is to improve the quality of life of its citizens and remain competitive in the global marketplace.  In order to make the European Union more entrepreneurial the researchers propose a reform strategy with respect to nine areas, including the organisation of labour markets and social insurance systems as well as R&D, commercialisation and knowledge spill-overs.
