What the research can teach us about automation? (2016)

On the 28th of December 2016, IFN arranged an open seminar on what research can teach us about automation. Melanie Arntz, Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, and assistant professor at the University of Heidelberg, opened the seminar. Researchers at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics, IFN, who study digitalization and automation and its effects also presented their work. Fredrik Heyman, Pehr-Johan Norbäck and Lars Persson showed that Swedish firms, in particular in manufacturing, have successfully applied digitalization while Mårten Blix, IFN, discussed the broad effects of digitalization. Annika Winsth, chief economist Nordea, participated in the panel debate.
