Niklas Elert defended his Ph.D. thesis Economic Dynamism - Essays on firm entry and firm growth in September 2014 at Örebro University. His research focuses on entrepreneurship and firm dynamics. He is the author of a book, Människoapans Utmaning (Timbro) (The Challenge of The Human Ape), which deals with the relationship between economic growth and the environment. At IFN he has co-authored two books about the reforms that the European Union should undertake to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. He has previously worked as an editorial writer at Expressen.
Some of the questions Niklas tries to answer in his research:
- What is the relationship between institutions and entrepreneurship?
- How can the climate for entrepreneurship and innovations be improved?
- What are high-growth firms and where can they be found?
- Is it possible to learn entrepreneurship?
