Research assistants Nicklas Nordfors and Charlotta Olofsson.

IFN is a private and independent research institute that conducts research on economic and social issues relevant to the business sector. The main part of our research is carried out within five research programs: (i) Economics of Entrepreneurship, (ii) Globalization and Corporate Restructuring, (iii) The Economics of the Service Sector, (iv) The Economics of Electricity Markets, and (v) The Economics of Institutions and Culture

Starting September 2018 IFN will hire a trainee working two days a week – the working hours are to some extent flexible. The position entails participation in the daily work of our researchers, in close cooperation with the researcher and the research program that for the moment needs support. The job might also be carried out in collaboration with one of the full-time research assistants at IFN, and you always have a contact person/mentor at IFN, who serves as a link to the institute.

The tasks executed by an IFN trainee vary a great deal, ranging from compiling literature to collecting data for databases as well as working with Stata code for data analysis. You will also assist with assignments within the broader range of IFN's activities.

If you are interested in IFN the position as a trainee offers a great opportunity to learn about our work and to introduce yourself. At the same time, you will learn what a researcher's everyday life looks like. This might help you in your career choice. In addition, you will have the opportunity to get feedback on your future or ongoing master's thesis.

To be considered for the part-time trainee position at IFN you must either study the final year on a bachelor's degree or a master's degree with focus on economics. You should be interested in research relevant to the industry and have the ambition ultimately to receive a Ph.D. in economics. High grades, as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English, are a requirement and experience of working with data processing in Stata is a merit.

For more information, please contact trainee@ifn.se. The application (including CV, transcripts and essay) should be sent to trainee@ifn.se.

The deadline for the application for 2018 trainee is August 6, 2018.
