Staffan Bohman will be the new chairman of the board of the Research Institute of Industrial Economics, IFN. He succeeds Michael Treschow, who has been chairman 2011–2018.

Staffan Bohman currently holds the chairmanship of several companies, including Electrolux, and the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce. He has previously been the chairman of Höganäs and has held board assignments in companies such as Scania, Boliden, Inter-Ikea, and Vattenfall. He was President and CEO of Gränges (Sapa) in 1999–2004. Staffan Bohman is a member of Section IX of the Academy of Engineering Sciences and has previously been, among others, Vice Chairman of the highest decision-making body at SNS, Centre for Business and Policy Studies.

It has been a great privilege to work with Michael Treschow as chairman of the board. His contributions have been invaluable to IFN. We are now looking forward to working with Staffan Bohman in this capacity. His solid experience from the industry and the society at large bodes well for IFN's future, says Professor Magnus Henrekson, Managing Director of IFN.

Being the chairman of IFN has been a very stimulating task. IFN's research is important in the public debate as it is based on facts. The research shows consequences of laws and regulations and it helps legislators to make informed decisions. This contributes to a positive development in society at large", says Michael Treschow.
