Spencer Bastani is affiliated researcher. Some of the questions he tries to answer in his research:

  • How should taxes and other public policies be designed to achieve the objectives of society?
  • How are individuals and firms affected by taxes and other public policies?
  • What factors determine whether an individual has a high labor income and/or capital income?

Spencer Bastani obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Uppsala University in 2012. Since then, he has been employed at Uppsala University and Linnaeus University. He has also been a visiting researcher at NBER/MIT, ZEW/U. Mannheim, and ifo/LMU München. Currently, he is a researcher at the Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy (IFAU) and is affiliated with IFN UCFS, UCLS and CESifo.

The Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research is the foremost global award for research on entrepreneurship.This Prize is awarded annually with a prize sum of EUR 100,000.

IFN in cooperation with Entreprenörskapsforum and Vinnova are the principals of the award, in cooperation with the donor, Lars Backsell.

Professor Boyan Jovanovic, New York University, is the winner of the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research 2019.
