Global Award Laureate Saras Sarasvathy visited IFN

Professor Saras Sarasvathy visited IFN on monday.

In connection with her visit to Stockholm where she will receive the award on Wednesday and give a prize lecture, she also held a seminar at IFN "Scaling Without Capital? Penrosean Resource Substitution in an Accelerator"

She also recorded a podcast where she describes in an easily accessible way parts of the work she is now awarded for, namely the Effectuation theory which is a model that shows how entrepreneurs work and how entrepreneurship is shaped. She also gives policy recommendations on how entrepreneurship can be taught at an early age and what such knowledge provides for societal effects in general.

The Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research rewards research that has helped increase understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship. With its prize money and its global approach, the award is unique in its kind. The prize consists of the statue "Hand of God" by Carl Milles and prize money of 100,000 euros. The founder of the award is the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum, the co-founder is the  Research Insitute of Industrial Economics, IFN, and the co-financier is Vinnova, Sweden's innovation agency.
