In their study Niclas Berggren and Therese Nilsson show that social and economic globalization can stimulate parents to teach their children tolerance, in order to better equip the children for a future in a world of difference, openness and mobility.
"I am proud of this prize, which I regard as a recognition of the research that I, Therese Nilsson and other reserachers at IFN are conducting on the interplay between economic and cultural factors", says Niclas Berggren.
He is pleased to spend part of his working year at the leading school for business and economics in the Czech Republic, “where I also teach about institutions and how cultural factors such as trust and tolerance are important for the way the market economy functions”.
