Active owners are an asset to companies

Joacim Tåg, IFN, participated on Wednesday in a panel discussion hosted by the Swedish Venture Capital Association (SVCA). A report on the impact of ownership on value creation and job creation in Sweden was presented. It shows that 50% of all capital is foreign owned. A panel discussed the report's conclusions in general and equity/ownership in Sweden in particular. The participants agreed that the active owners are an asset to companies, but also for the economy at large.

Joacim Tåg was part of a stage discussion about active ownership, with Hans Rydstad PhD, Senior Advisor Carnegie, and Gunilla Nordlöf, Director General, Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket). Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist, Chairman SVCA, moderated the talk. Earlier this year Hans Rydstad presented an official report of the Swedish government about state funding of firms. Research on venture capital by Joacim Tåg was cited in the report. Tåg’s research includes how different forms of ownership and ownership changes affect businesses and society at large.
