Talent Development and Institutional Factors

Talent development has become increasingly important for the success of a single country. In this project, we investigate whether smaller countries such as Sweden can develop and retain talents in an increasingly competitive global market. The research project's overall purpose is to contribute to increased knowledge about how different institutions within talent development systems, e.g., education, affect the effectiveness of the talent development process. Initially, we focus on the development of sports. We study how the EU's internal market affects talent development in European football and how age differences among young people affect development.
