Martin Olsson received his Ph.D. from Stockholm University in 2012 and became an Associate Professor at Stockholm University in 2025. His thesis, Essays on Employment Protection, Private Equity and Spousal Behavior, addresses how labor market institutions and corporate ownership affect employees. Martin is also affiliated with IFAU.
Martin's research aims to provide clear insights into the interaction between work, businesses, and markets in a changing economy. Through empirical analyses with clear policy relevance, he examines, among other things, how business ownership and technological development affect labor market outcomes, as well as the broader forces that drive structural transformations in the labor market and the economy at large.
Among the questions that Martin Olsson tries to answer with his research:
- How does corporate ownership affect labor market outcomes for employees?
- What role does technological change, such as automation and digitalization, play in the development of the labor market?
