"Power, says Professor Magnus Henrekson, ' has come to be seen as something that should be restricted at all costs, because increasingly power is associated with coercion, fraud, ruthlessness, and violence. There are two possible routes available to people who have been given power and influence by others', he says, ' to act with the best interests of others in mind, thus gaining long-term and lasting influence and a good reputation; or to be seduced by power and the opportunities it provides to benefit themselves and their loved ones at the expense of the group'. He explains how power, both good and bad, works and explains that 'the evidence suggests that we are genetically programmed to be at peace when we have a place in a group, when we have a role to play that suits us, and when we feel valued––not out of pity but because we actually help create real value'. That, ' a true sense of a life well-lived comes from being entrusted with genuine responsibility'."
